Michael Aleksander-Cofounder


Michael has over four decades of experience in mining, manufacturing and logistics in Asia and Latin America. His connections in the precious metals industry opened the doors for Trident to market bullion bought and mined in Chile and Argentina.


Michael was the founder of the first independent diamond grading laboratory in Australia in the 1980s, a wholesale and retail jewelry chain in Australia and Japan, and a commodity trading company in Switzerland and the U.K. He has also had numerous articles published in significant Asian newspapers and journals. Managing the administration team for Trident enabled him to fine tune the efficiency and speed of important projects such as organizing Tridents Argentinian and Chilean mines infrastructure for easy streamlining of concentrate and Dore.

Control and prioritize the steps to process the ore from Processing Plant all the way to Customs authorities and Logistics, finalizing for Export. Stock takes both for concentrate and Dore, are closely supervised, enabling precise control of export costings and earnings. Undertook all negotiations with potential International concentrate and /Dore
smelters and refiners. As the GM for Trident’s Management Team all projects are integrated into the administrative system allowing a fluid integration for expanding and managing numerous mining operations simultaneously.



Leon Aleksander-Cofounder

CEO/Legal Representative

Fluent in Spanish and with over twenty years of experience in precious metals arbitrage/mining, manufacturing, and import/export in Latin America, Asia and the United States. Leon is the founder and CEO of Trident’s gold trading company in Chile with over US$50 million worth of gold bullion exports to date.


Leon’s political skills and relationships enabled Trident Group to succeed in South America. Under his leadership, Trident has been awarded tenders in Argentina and Chile, both public and private; hold gold mining leases and exploitation rights; create a resource base in the millions of ounces, and permit mining operations for processing precious metals ore into Dore and concentrates for export.


Leon’s ability to identify high grade deposits with significant upside potential at the earliest possible discovery stage continues to fuel the groups rapid growth in the Americas.


With the ability to take an exploration team of 5 with a potential resource and convert it to a validated resource, managing a team of over 300 employees and consultants from different countries.

Nibaldo Rojas Ángel

Chief Geologist - Universidad del Norte, Head of Exploration

Nibaldo has more than 35 years of experience in exploration, mine geology and resources estimation, having worked for international companies. Greenfield and brownfield discoveries. Assessment and recommendation of project acquisitions contributing to company growth.

Leadership of 300 employees. High engagement with SHEC policies and protocols. Capacity to integrate, build and lead effectively. Yamana Chile Services from 2007 to 2016. Senior Director Los Andes Exploration.

Responsible for greenfield and brownfield exploration in Los Andes Region: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Perú. Brownfield exploration in Chile (El Peñón and Florida Mine) and Argentina (Gualcamayo and Cerro Moro deposits).


Reported to the Corporate Exploration Senior Vice-president. In charge of 300 employees (100 Yamana employees) and managed budgets up to US$70 million. Member of the Direction Team responsible for the Yamana discoveries in the Los Andes region.

José Farías


Is a certified Public Accountant and Accountant Auditor of the University of Santiago, Chile, with a Masters in Planning and Tax Management, a Post Degree and a Diploma in Tax Legislation, as well as numerous taxation courses, both national and international. Jose also acted as General Manager of Finance for ECSA Holdings, Chile and its many subsidiaries also acting as auditor and personal financial advisor for the Minister of Finance as well as the major shareholder of LAN, Chile.


With over 20 years of experience, including acting as auditor for Deloitte and Touch e auditing National and International companies in the Mining, Gas, and real estate fields.

Eduardo Bastías Flores

Mining Civil Engineer

Universidad de Chile, School of Engineering and Science, Civil Engineering of Mines, 1986 Lectures as Assistant Professor for the courses "Functions of Complex Variable and Equations with Partial Derivatives" and "Ordinary Differential Equations". Universidad de Chile, School of Engineering and Sciences.

Lectures as Professor at the University of the Americas, in the chair of “Mining Design in Underground and Open pit Mining” Highly qualified and experienced civil mining engineer with 33 years of professional experience in engineering and operations for underground and open pit mines. He has extensive experience in underground mining methods such as: Sublevel Stoping, Cut and Fill, Post Pillar and Room and Pillar. Expertise in the design of mansions, mining galleries, VCR chimneys, calculation of reserves, ventilation, development of production plans, estimation of mine equipment, OPEX estimations and mining investment plans.

For the past 13 years, he has worked as a mining consultant, leading mining projects in open pit and underground mining in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador and Cuba.

Rodrigo Álvarez

COS / Operations / Risk Prevention

Joined the Army in 1994 and rapidly climbed the ladder to achieve, with Honors, the rank of Sergeant – In 2017 Rod graduated as NCOA at Fort Benning, USA where he achieved 1st place with Honors - Specializing in Commando & Special Operations - Special Forces Unit in Chile. 


Rod’s expertise in all aspects of security, with the right to carry arms in Chile, has placed him in the forefront of ensuring all aspects of the mining business is secure. As acting COS at the mine in Argentina, Rod had a clear and precise overview of all staff members understanding their strengths and weaknesses with the ability to motivate and bring out the best in everyone. On a Political level Rod communicated with both local and national ministers assisting Leon Aleksander in wading through the complexities of politics. Often Rod took charge of negotiations with Unions to pacify and find solutions to their requests.

He has a knack at locating and solving delicate problems, coordinating with different persons confronting any issues and implementing the solution.

Jaime Arancibia

Mining Civil Engineer and Mining Execution Engineer

Universidad de La Serena, School of Engineering, Civil Engineering of Mines, 2000 Universidad Pedro de Valdivia, School of Engineering, Mining Execution Engineer, 2013 Graduate with a degree in Mining Civil Engineering, with over 10 years of experience, responsible for conceiving the engineering concepts and methods for extraction, designing, planning, directing, operating and controlling the
extraction process in mines. In addition, managing the mining projects with skills such as leadership and proactivity, being an innovator and pioneer and possessing with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Relying in scientific knowledge and knowledge of the geological criteria and methods, rock mechanics, surface and underground modelling, drilling and blasting.

Hugo Ochoa


Universidad de Chile, Department of Geology, 2015 Develop experience working in Sernageomin, National Geology and Mining Service, experience in production geologist in underground and open pit work. In charge of developing geological maps, controlling the minerals that enter the crushing, and the description of drilling; in addition to performing own supervisory duties.

Plan and coordinate geotechnical, geological, geophysical or geohydrological data acquisition, analysis and mapping, designing and conduct feasibility studies in mining exploration, operation and evaluation.

Performance as a substitute teacher and assistant professor for General Geology, in the higher level technical career.

Jorge Salazar

Design, manage and evaluate financial and non-financial information in preparation of accounting records.

Systematize and guarantee accounting information. Review, analyze and audit Assets and Liabilities accounts.

Laura Sanchez

Lawyer / Human Resources

International degree in Law, from the University 
Master’s in Management and Human Resources, from the National University Rafael Maria Baralt.
Control of permitting and registering with Chilean Mining authorities, Coordinating Environmental Procedures, organize due diligence regarding suppliers and. Monitor and control mine samples lodged with Laboratory, for
analysis, advising Management the results. Controlling monthly forecasting cost control and mine expenditures based on Exploitation plans.


Scheduling national and international travels whilst coordinating and arranging meetings and
video conference calls. Support in legal matters regarding permits, contracts and the legalization of documents.

Preparing documents, statement, reports, memos, invoices etc., filing, and retrieving corporate records also assisting in administrative and HR processes.

Degree in Administration, with a specialization in Industrial Relation, from the University Alonso de Ojeda, Venezuela.

Monthly accountability for all income and expenses and monthly bank reconciliation. Direct communications with all suppliers and management of International accounting, ensuring relevant taxes have been accounted for and Payments reflect this. Manage multi bank accounts both in Chile and Argentina. Calculate Consultants fees and execute payments as well as organize and manage tax implications.

Degree as Industrial Engineer, with a specialization in Environmental, Health, and Safety Management, from the University Alonso de Ojeda, Venezuela.

Planning and forecasting the different stages of mine Explorations as well as the different stages of drilling programs.

Planning and establishing budgets for the different mining projects including preparation and cost analysis for purchases and sales. Customs and Logistics management for the Import and Export of machinery, also communications with National and International suppliers. Coordinating and managing the Export of concentrate including the preparation of Laboratory analysis, “bagging” and secure storage. Communicating with Refineries in relation to Payment Protocols and time frames.
